I graduated from Hackensack High School in 1973 and “Mr. G.”, as
Anthony J. Gilio was known, was the head of the Music Department and had been already for many years. All the students I knew who were in the band and music liked him; there was never a bad word spoken about him.

Click here to view his obituary, which states that he served during
World War II
in Okinawa. I would think it was during the occupation of Okinawa after wars end, but I have no way of knowing f
or sure as of
August 23, 2014. What I do know is that Mr. Gilio was a good guy and loved Music which came across to those students he touched through his teaching.
